Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massage. It is a great addition to your fitness regimen and can help improve your overall health. Not only does it relax the entire body, but it has numerous health benefits which include, lowering blood pressure, improving circulation, and increasing oxytocin and serotonin levels. Swedish massage is a great way to ease the tension of a busy work week. Regular sessions will help keep stress levels down and alleviate muscle soreness and inflammation.
If you’re looking for a more focused massage that utilizes deeper pressure this is the massage for you. Deep tissue massage concentrates on relieving chronic tension and knots within the muscles by reaching the innermost layers of muscle and connective tissue. Deep tissue massages are great for those looking to increase range of motion, restore normal muscle movement and ease the body of chronic pain.
A specialized massage technique, myofascial release works to relieve tension in the fascia/connective tissues—thin tissue that covers all bones, muscles, and organs of the body. Tension in these tissues is usually the result of trauma, poor posture or inflammation.
Myofascial release is beneficial to those who suffer from immobility and pain. Long, gentle stretching strokes are applied to the fascia to help restore balance to the muscles and tissues, ease contracted muscles, improve circulation, and decrease pain. Myofascial release can help those who suffer from health conditions such as TMJ, headaches, muscle strains, and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Pregnancy massage is a safe, and effective way to relieve many discomforts associated with pregnancy. These may include backaches, stiff neck, headaches, swelling, and sore legs. While massage is particularly beneficial in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, regular massages during all phases of pregnancy can help relieve strained muscles, improve relaxation, ease nerve and joint pain.
We take great care to make sure that expectant mothers are comfortable during their massages. While pregnancy can hinder a woman from being able to lay on her back or stomach, our therapist is trained to perform a relaxing massage with the mother-to-be in a side-lying position. It is recommended that you receive doctor approval before scheduling a pregnancy massage.
Massage Cancellation Policy:
Your appointment is time reserved exclusively for you. Please value our time as we value yours – be courteous, call at least 24 hours ahead if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Keep in mind that “no-shows” and last minute cancellations leave our staff with empty appointment times that could be filled with other clients trying to schedule services. For this reason, we charge 50% of the service fee for “no-shows” and last minute cancellations. Thank you for your consideration.
Ashlee is a Muskegon native. After graduating from Reeths-Puffer High School in 2007, she attended Muskegon Community College, where she obtained her associates degree in Science and Arts. in 2011, she received her certificate in Medical Receptionist from Baker College. She returned to Baker in 2014 where she received her Associate in Massage Therapy. Ashlee specializes in Trigger Point release and sweedish massage. She is currently working towards her certification in Sports Massage.
